A test of a WIP of a Revit add-in converting SketchUp (.SKP) geometry directly into native Revit walls, seeking to bridge the gap between design and BIM by automating design-to-BIM package conversions.
Within the world of BIM / Computational Design, I think it can be agreed that tools like Rhino/Grasshopper and even Blender are what is associated with that endeavour. Alas, that also means the majority of interoperability tools between those, and BIM is pretty much only geared to that tech. stack, hence pretty much subjecting the other large percentage of users in direct modelling tools using SketchUp to not… having anything of that made available. Hence here is an attempt at investigating and if anything, bridge the chasm from SketchUp to Revit, as we have done for far too much for Rhino to Revit.
